Exeter Woodcarvers is a group of men and women from around Devon who meet each Tuesday evening in the Deepway Centre to carve wood in a sociable atmosphere. The Club was formed in Exeter in 2004 but since moved to Exminster.
It is the love of wood that brings us together more than our expertise in carving. We welcome new members and it may be that many people in the Exminster area know nothing about us. We have everything you need to get started : benches, wood, chisels and friendly help. We’re not a “teaching club” but we do help when you need it, as well as having a good library. Every six weeks or so, we have a talk or a demonstrator.
After a while, we would expect you to obtain your own tools, etc. We ask you to join after the first month’s attendance and our annual membership fee plus a small weekly fee each Tuesday you come, and this covers tea and biscuits (see Membership page for this years fees).
If you would like to know more, why not call in one Tuesday between 7 pm and 9 pm. More detail on how to find find us or ask questions here.
